Every figure on Land Gap comes from three public datasets, all published under the Open Government Licence. Download ours, check it, and reuse it.

land-gap.csv: every council, with need, delivery, brownfield capacity and the land gap, including the working.

| Standard method, England total | Minimum local housing need for England on the May 2026 inputs (2025 affordability ratios, 2025 dwelling stock). 370,408 on the December 2024 inputs. Moves every March and May. This is the validation target: the sum of per-council figures must reproduce it. | 25 September 2026 |
| Housing Delivery Test 2025 measurement | Covers FY 2022/23 to 2024/25. Published 17 Aug 2026 with the 2024 measurement, which it supersedes. 302 rows, 301 with a result. Reported: 147 below 95%, 93 below 75%. The counts are secondary and must be reproduced from the ODS at ingest. | 25 September 2026 |
| Brownfield land dataset coverage | 37,736 rows from 298 providers on planning.data.gov.uk, collected 25 Sep 2026; 29,941 without an end date. Publisher caveat: may be incomplete and not yet cover all of England. | 25 September 2026 |
